The purpose of the course is to give necessary knowledge to manage projects of any size and complexity in IT Sector based on Agile Project Management methodology using SCRUM, KANBAN frameworks. Participants will learn to use Trello to manage their projects.
Why learn IT Project Management?
Demand for Project Managers is growing yearly. Doing projects is one of the most complex tasks in our everyday work. A tool that helps is to structuralize all the necessary components of the project and do them separately. Project managers must have a wide variety of skills, including technical knowledge of how to complete a project, business acumen, and leadership skills. Project management is the practice of initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing the work of a team to achieve the set of goals in a specified time. Without these careful considerations, doing projects would get messy and unaccomplished.
How to learn Project Management?
ISTC is providing the course through a specialized syllabus, where students will take part in learning scope management, schedule management, cost management, quality management, resource management, communication management, risk management, procurement management, stakeholder management, integration management and agile project management. The classes will take 2 hours/weekly in an overall 5 week period.
Project Management Basics
The first stage of the course is to present project management course as a whole. First, students will gain general knowledge about PM and its structures, main knowledge areas of PM. Some of them are resource management, communication management, risk management, procurement management, and integration management.
The trainer will take the time to explain the thorough implications of each KA and how it will them use the learned skills in real life. All necessary materials will be provided during the course.
Agile Project Management
In this stage, students will learn the most widely used PM approach, especially in the field of information technology. Agile PM emphasizes the importance of delivering a working product as something tangible for the client that can then be refined until it fulfills the client’s needs. The key measure of agile project management is the series of working deliverables. In this stage, participants will learn the most widely used Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban). Also, participants will create their own projects using software management tool Trello.
At the end of the course, the participants will be ready to start PM career with fundamental skills.
