In collaboration with Foundation for Armenian Relief and EIF, ISTC is happy to host Peter Michaelian for a SmartTalk about “Design-Driven Innovation”. Peter is head of the design at Dolby and has 17 years of product design experience, working with a broad range of companies from startups to fortune 500 companies.
Design combines creativity, curiosity, and empathy with pragmatism, strategy and problem-solving. Applying creative ingenuity to tangible solutions is what makes this type of thinking unique.
Broader industries can leverage these values to drive new ideas and innovation. Through industry and personal examples, this discussion aims to inspire ways we can impact advancement and transformation through creative methodologies.
Peter started his design career at Smart Design in New York before moving to San Franscio as Creative Director at Frog Design and is currently Head of Design at Dolby Laboratories for Products and User Experiences. Peter’s experience in engineering, industrial design, product strategy, and User Experience has shaped his holistic approach to innovation. Designing for a diverse group of companies, like HP, Logitech, Google, OXO, Cisco, P&G, Honeywell and many interesting startups, has led to invaluable learning. He has regularly taught as an adjunct professor of design at The Cooper Union, UC Berkeley and CCA. He is named on over 70 patents and has won 25 international design awards for numerous products that he has helped bring to market.
So don’t miss this unique chance to hear about industrial design and have an opportunity for networking with him.
